Volunteer Opportunities for High School Students

There are several exciting summer volunteer opportunities for high school students at The Franklin Institute:

Junior Science Presenter Volunteer Program (FULL FOR SUMMER 2012)
Are you looking for a fun and exciting summer volunteer experience? Students entering grades 9 and 10, who are between the ages of 14-16, are eligible to apply for a Junior Science Presenter position for summer 2012. Participants will develop public speaking skills, learn more about science, and have fun interacting with Franklin Institute visitors! Throughout the course of the summer, you will learn the ins and outs of informal education, present hands-on science activities to museum visitors, and work with Franklin Institute staff to develop new public programs. Time will be spent both "behind the scenes" and out on the museum floor. No prior work experience needed, just an enthusiasm for learning! After completing the program you will be eligible to continue volunteering as a Science Presenter.

Interested applicants should be entering the 9th or 10th grade and must be between the ages of 14 and 16. Students entering the 11th or 12th grade, or those older than 16, may apply for the regular Science Presenter position (see below). The Junior Science Presenter Volunteer Program will be held throughout the summer on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9:00AM-3:30PM. This program can accommodate up to 10 participants and will begin on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 and go through Thursday, August 30, 2012. If you are interested in getting involved, please submit your completed application by the end of May 2012.
