Students will light up this workshop as they investigate the basics of electronics and circuitry, and then create their own fashion design using LEDs and conductive thread. Students are encouraged to bring their own textiles to sew onto, like t-shirts, bags, or patches.

Put your thinking caps on for this day of brainy experiments and activities! Begin with an exclusive preview of TFI's new Your Brain exhibit. Learn about new advancements in neuroscience through a hands-on workshop.
Homeschool Workshops are for students ages 7-14. All ages will be in the same classroom, but separated by age at different tables.
Each workshop runs from 10:30AM-2:30PM followed by free time to explore the museum as a family.
What to Bring
- Please pack a lunch. The class will take about a 30 minute break in the classroom for lunch.
- Portfolios and pencils will be provided, so you don't have to bring anything else, unless you want to.
- The temperature can vary greatly around the museum, so dress in layers and be prepared for small messes!
- A Health and Consent Form if you haven't already returned it. (Only one per year needed.)
Arrival and Departure
Sign in will begin in the Bartol Atrium on the 2nd floor around 10:15AM and we will leave for the classroom by 10:30AM. We will return your student(s) to the Atrium around 2:30PM for you to sign them back out and begin exploring the museum on your own.
You may park in The Franklin Institute's garage, entrance on 21st St, at a discounted rate of $6 per Workshop. Please bring your ticket inside to receive the Workshop pass.
