Wired to Win : Surviving the Tour de France

Wired to Win

Through June 14

Wired to Win presents a new portrait of the brain—an organ built to learn, changing its cell structure with each thought and experience. It continually adapts itself to our needs and gives us the ability to determine in large part who we are and who we become. Wired to Win applies this view of the brain to the grueling 21 day Tour de France, following the world’s top professional cyclists through the Alps to experience fight-or-flight situations on steep downhill, witness their struggle to maintain mental focus, and learn from their constant battle with fatigue.

Note: Wired to Win is part of the Identity and Giant Heart Experiences. It will be available to classes not reserving these packages as space permits.

Sea Monsters: A Prehistoric Adventure

Sea Monsters

Through May 23

From the depths of an ocean in the middle of the United States comes a tale of survival and discovery more than 80 million years in the making. Using computer-generated animation, Sea Monsters recreates an underwater world from the Late Cretaceous period in which the ocean that divided North America in two was inhabited by creatures of massive size and ferocity. The adventures of a dolichorynchops (“dolly”), a creature that lived towards the bottom of the food chain, are combined with footage of historic and modern excavations in which paleontologists attempt to unravel the mystery surrounding these ancient creatures.

Wild Ocean

Opening May 24

Each year an unbelievable feeding frenzy takes place in the oceans off South Africa as billions of sardines migrate up the coast. The migration has provided essential food for sea life and generations of people living along the coast. This giant-screen documentary captures amazing footage of breaching whales, feeding sharks and diving gannets. It also demonstrates the economic and cultural impact of the migration and why business, government and locals have joined together to preserve this ecological resource.
