Spring Break Camp 2008
March 17 through 28 - 9AM to 3PM
Students: Spend your Spring Break at The Franklin Institute playing with some cool science and visiting your favorite exhibits! Five different science themes are offered. Spring Break Camp is for 6-13 year old students.
Identity: The Science of You! : March 17 or 24
What’s your story? Lots of things make you uniquely who you are. Use our new exhibit to take a behind-the-scenes look at the physical, psychological and social details that determine your identity.
Focus: Genetics, Anatomy, Biology
We Will Rock You: March 18 or 25
How would you describe music? What is sound? There are many sounds in the world but some are more pleasing to our ears than others. Make some noise during this session as we look at sound waves, harmony and good vibrations.
Focus: Acoustics, Culture
Science of Star Wars: March 19 or 26
How much of the technology in Star Wars is science and how much is imagination? Where do the two meet? Look at challenges facing robotics engineers, look at “The Force” of magnetism and electricity and see how astronomers search for life on other planets.
Focus: Engineering, Technology, Astronomy
Jurassic Science: March 20 or 27
If humans never lived with dinosaurs, how do we know so much about them? Examine how scientists dig for information using fossils, bones and even the modern relatives of the dinosaurs.
Focus: Paleontology, Evolution
Light, Color, Chemistry! : March 21 or 28
Science isn’t just beakers and test-tubes, it’s also visible light, the mixing of color and our own interpretation. Come find out why you can’t have art without science and let your creative genius out to play.

Registration Fees: $70 per child/day. (Become a member and receive 10% off Registration Fees!)
Other Fees: Early Arrival, 8am: $6 per child/per day
Late Departure, 5:30pm: $8 per child/per day
We provide a snack and drinks. Campers will need to bring their lunch or order one from our food service provider.
