In the spirit of inquiry and discovery embodied by Benjamin Franklin, the mission of The Franklin Institute is to inspire an understanding of and passion for science and technology learning.

Since its founding in 1824, The Franklin Institute has kept pace with the changing world of science and technology, evolving from a center for the mechanical arts to a cutting-edge museum equipped for science and technology learning in the 21st century. The Institute's interactive exhibits and programs bring science and technology to life in an engaging, fun-filled atmosphere. At age eight or eighty-eight, visitors are immersed in a wonderland of innovation, exploration, and discovery.
