Become part of the exhibit!
When you visit Identity, you have the unique opportunity to contribute to an art project that will be a permanent part of this exhibit. When you visit, bring a collage representing the three elements that define who you are: a physical trait inherited from your parents, a social trait indicative of your friends or community, and a psychological trait that shows how you feel about the world around you. These areas correspond to the three main topic areas of the exhibit. The artwork will be mounted as part of a collage for exhibition.
To ensure that there is room for everyone's artwork, please limit the size of your collage to 11" x 17"
Here are some tips for creating your collage:
Start with a simple background that shows how you feel as a person. This could be a color, a texture or a pattern that symbolizes something about YOU.
Next, attach something that reminds you of someone you love, like a parent or guardian. Even a sibling. This could be a photo or picture from a magazine, a small item such as a button if your parent sews, a shell from the beach if your family vacations at the shore, a reading list, a popsicle stick - anything that makes you think of a loved one when you see it.
Now, draw something that represents something you really like to do - such as games, sports, a musical instrument, pets, travel, hang out with friends, etc. - anything that is important to YOU.
And most importantly, HAVE FUN!
