Mark Alan Hughes, Ph.D. Mark Alan Hughes, Ph.D. - Moderator

Dr. Hughes is a Distinguished Senior Fellow of the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Design and the TC Chan Center for Building Simulation and Energy Studies. He was the Chief Policy Adviser to Mayor Nutter and the founding Director of Sustainability for the City of Philadelphia.

Kieth Dixon Keith Dixon - Climate Scientist, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

Mr. Dixon is a senior research meteorologist at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA’s) Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory. His expertise lies in the use of state-of-the-art computer models to simulate the Earth’s global climate - past, present, and future.

Brain Phillips Brian Phillips – Founder, of Interface Studio Architects LLC

Mr. Phillips has spent much of his career bringing innovative design approaches to urban neighborhoods. Interface Studio Architects has been identified as a local green groundbreaker architecture firm, which focuses on innovative processes to build in using cheaper and more sustainable methods.

Howard Neukrug Howard Neukrug - Director of the Office of Watersheds, Philadelphia Water Department

Mr. Neukrug oversees a “best in nation” source water protection program for the City of Philadelphia, which is currently implementing over 65 restoration and protection projects involving abandoned mine drainage reclamation, agricultural buffers, stormwater management, sewage overflows and public education.

Ms. Zibelman is a recognized national and international expert in energy policy, markets and Smart Grid innovation. Viridity Energy is at the leading edge of using Smart Grid technology to create new horizons for businesses, institutions, governmental entities, and university campuses.

Yael Lehmann Yael Lehmann - Executive Director, The Food Trust

Ms. Lehmann is committed to increasing access to affordable, nutritious food, improving health through better nutrition and to support local farms and help sustain the environment. The Food Trust received a Philadelphia Sustainability Award for its promotion of sustainable farming.
